Buy Haywood's Cooking Local project aims to foster healthy eating and increase the sale of locally-grown fruits and vegetables in WNC through cooking demonstrations that feature a locally-grown product, the farmer who grew it, and a local chef who will show just how quick and easy it is to cook with fresh, locally-grown ingredients.  We're compiling a fabulous collection of recipes from cooking_local_kale_smlocal chefs who are sharing some wonderful meals you can make at home - using fresh local fruits and vegetables! Check out our upcoming demonstration schedule!

Cooking Local is a 2-year project that connects community members with local farmers and chefs in an effort to reintroduce people to the simple pleasure of preparing seasonal, local foods. We aim to foster healthy eating and increase the sale of locally-grown fruits and vegetables in Western North Carolina through expanded knowledge of fresh food preparation and nutrition education.
